All You Need to Know
What information do you need from me?
To set up a fund, you will need to complete and submit an enrollment form that includes basic contact information and an opportunity to designate successor advisors and indicate some operational preferences for your fund.
How long does it take to set up a fund?
Once we receive your enrollment form, we will set up your fund within 2-3 business days.
Is there a minimum contribution?
We have a minimum initial contribution of $5,000.
Can I contribute stock?
In addition to cash contributions, you can contribute publicly traded equities.
Can I contribute private equity, artwork or real estate?
Please contact us directly to discuss approaches to these kinds of contributions.
What investment options do you offer?
We offer a range of investment options with varying levels of risk including socially responsible options.
What happens if I leave my fund in cash?
Many donors choose to keep their fund as cash. We hold our cash in money market funds with our mission-driven financial partner, Amalgamated Bank.
Can I manage my fund on-line, like my bank account?
Through our Donor View system, you can check balances, review activity, make grant recommendations, and more.

Are there limitations and restrictions on my grant recommendations?
You can recommend grants to 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations. We conduct due diligence to confirm their charitable status and ensure they meet our Hate is Not Charitable screen for hate groups.
You cannot make grants to fulfill a personal pledge, buy tickets to or sponsor an event that provides you or your business with tangible benefits.
Can I make project-specific or multi-year grants?
Yes, you can make project-specific and multi-year grants. For multi-year grants, your fund must have the funds to pay for multi-year grants.
Can I make grants to organizations outside the United States?
By setting up an Expenditure Responsibility grant, we can make grants to organizations outside of the United States. This process includes additional fees.
How long does it take to process a grant recommendation?
For standard grants, we process grants within 5 business days.
